Bryan Jonas' training in Transpersonal Hypnotherapy began October 1995 at the Transpersonal Hypnotherapy Institute (THI) located in Boulder, Colorado. He continued his study until he became the Educational Director and Trainer in February 1997. While at THI, he taught Basic Hypnotherapy courses and designed and implemented an Advanced Ericksonian Hypnotherapy course before he returned to Rapid City to focus on his private practice in 1998.

Bryan's interest in the mind, altered states of consciousness and the further reaches of human nature and capacity began in 1976 when he began studying and practicing Siddha Yoga and meditation, a practice that he continues.

In 1981, Bryan met Virginia Satir "The Mother of Family Therapy," and studied with her for the next seven years.

He served on the board of the Black Hills Satir Institute and became a member of AVANTA, Virginia Satir's International Network of Trainers.

In 1984 and 1985, he attended workshops with William Hudson O'Hanlon in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy.

Bryan served on the Tiyospaye Network Board of Directors in many capacities over a period of years. This association hosted yearly cross-cultural communications workshops in the Black Hills

Bryan became a member of the Association of Transpersonal Psychology & Hypnotherapy in 1995.
